Jake is One!

It has been a whole year. I can hardly believe it.
I love this little boy so much and I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given to be his mom.
At one year, Jake walks and has 1.5 teeth barely. One is just poked out and the other is on the verge. Jake loves it when we sing to him - made up songs or Old McJakey. He giggles when you make barnyard sounds and is partial to the Moo. His favorite food currently includes eggs, cheese sticks and banana.
Happy birthday little boy!

The Countdown

I have totally been neglecting my blog and sharing with all of you what is going on in Jake-land. So sorry to disappoint. Here are some happenings. :)

Jake is growing so big. He eats SO much... all the time.
In only 8 days he will be ONE!
A little booty.
He is walking now pretty well too. He started some time in October. Can't remember right now... :)

And, just last week we took the little stinker to the zoo for a couple hours. It was his first time in the petting zoo (which is all goats!) and he couldn't have been less interested.

but, he did like the tractor! haha.
Don't worry, Cam was "watching closely"

I Think I promised Halloween Pictures...

At some point I got in my head that I wanted Jake to be a lion...

and somehow, that spawned into this.
We all went to the tri-ward trunk or treat. I LOVE those things. I just love Halloween. Anyway, I signed up to bring chili, cornbread and cupcakes because I am crazy... and it just so happened that on that day, Cameron's car broke down, I picked up an extra shift at Hob Lob and I still had work to do on Cameron's costume and the car decor. With the help of friends and family, we pulled it off! Oh, and we even won second place for out whole ensemble!
Jake liked his first Halloween - especially the chili and cornbread. :)

October left as quickly as it came...

I left you in my last post at my Aunt's birthday party, but then I found another memory card with pictures from Utah that I HAD to share. So, here those are along with a sampling of the happenings of October. Halloween post to come!
My brother's cute little family.
Our family!
So cute!
The very next day after arriving home from UT, I started CNA school. This is for you, Megan H.!
(I am still looking for a hospital job while working at the Hobby Lobby.)
While I was in school 5 days a week nothing much happened... but then like a week ago we went to my brother in law's 40th b-day party.
and dressed like pirates!
Sometime during Oct., I gave Jake his first haircut...
With grandpa's help and a little bribery. :)
Then Jake "tasted" grandma's popsicle.
but ended up in the highchair eating the entire thing!
I was so impressed, he ate the whole thing right off the stick like a grown up!

Last of the Utah Trip - Veloy's 60th!

My Aunt is SO amazing. She has been teaching first grade for 40 years. 40! Who could put up with little snotty six year olds for that long? Not me. And, she sews and quilts like there is no tomorrow among other things, and we were so blessed to be able to go be with her for her big huge ROCKIN' 60th birthday. So, without further ado, (You know, because this was like a month ago that we were in UT...) Here is the party and the birthday girl herself!

On the morning of her birthday, I made Veloy a very poorly executed egg muffin thing while I was shown up by my uncle (her brother) who brought over her gift. Um, yeah - FLAT SCREEN! She was so excited. Her other TV was like 12 inches. This is 42. She was in HEAVEN!
Then, that night, the party got started!!! Here she is!
So silly. She works with kids, can you tell?
And Elvis made an appearance. These are her teaching buddies.
The venue.
The cupcakes that her friend made 60 of. Crazy lady.
Me and Jake. Yeah, I am a mean mom holding him like that.
My cute cousin and sister in law.
Jake puts up with a lot.
And Karlie and Jared... and the top of Jake's head. Their kid was running around there somewhere. :)

Utah Trip!!!: Part Four: Good Old Fashioned Fun

We are almost done with the Utah Posts, I promise! One more after this!

After a day of picture taking, Cam and I really wanted to get some lunch with some Utah flavor - so we headed to the the neighborhood Arctic Circle and got us some Fry Sauce. (We ate other stuff too, but the fry sauce was definitely the highlight!)
And, of course Jake loved it too.
He just kept sucking on the fry... what a cutie.
Some other random fun times included: Jake play with Molly the dog.
Watching the cousins play with the "Bouncy Bounce". This is Sam.
Sam and my cousin's girl, Channing.
Jake loving on Channing. haha!

During the day of the party (post coming!) we went to Cherry Hill to go swimming.
This is Sam being shy and Oh So Fun!
I let Jake have some ice cream...
and then we tortured him in really cold water like the good parents we are.
Sam and his Daddy, Jared, went down this little slide.
You have to love the enthusiasm.
Cameron dared to get Jake more wet.
And we all met up on the lazy river where my aunt took this picture of us.
If you are ever in the Farmington Area in the summer time, I highly recommend this little water park. It had a really fun splash area, fun (not too fast) water slides, this rapid river type thing and everyone is so casual. Anyway, it was fun.

Utah Trip!!!: Part Three: Family Pictures

The Friday before the big party was packed full, so it is going to take two posts. To start off the day, Cameron and I went to meet up with my friend Emily who did some family pictures for us. Here are just a few. I have about a million to choose from. Thanks, Emily!
