Sick Day

Jake has been sick since Friday.

He has spent most of his days sleeping and watching Elmo...

like this.
How does he do that? Crazy Kid.

And then, today when he was feeling a bit better... he decided that he liked spraying himself in the face with a water bottle.
This isn't a new thing, but today I got some great action shots.

Oh to be 18 months.

BTW:
Jake at 18 months is
24lb 9.5oz (30%)
and 32.5 inches tall (50%)

Today would have been his first official day in nursery, but alas Jake was taking a sick day. :)

Some New Toys

Last weekend I got an urge to go garage sale-ing and I am glad I did too...

We picked up some great stuff.
Jake makes baskets (slam dunks, really) in the hoop repeatedly now on his own.
And this car (which is still in my house) is definitely a favorite.
He likes to find his toy keys and pretend to start it up.

This chair is not a yard sale find, but I have been meaning to share.
Jake has his own camping chair. It is pretty fun to see him sit in.
Bring on the S'mores!

And, Drum Roll Please....
This is Mom's new toy.
$5! It is metal and the x's and o's are magnetic.
We already hung it on our wall near our giant dominos.
Whoot!

Ward Camp Out

Oh man, probably two weeks ago now, we traveled to Camp Lo Mia for our ward camp out.
It was cold at night. Very cold. But, during the day it was warm and sunny and I took a million pictures for you all to see! Put on your excited face and scroll!

Down by the "river".

Cam was the fire master for the group meal and fireside chat.

Carrie loved the dirt, and so she shared.

Jake's dirty face.

He ate two pieces of watermelon.
He would have eaten the rind if I wouldn't have stopped him.

This cute family,

and some more friends were there,

including these two,

and this guy.

Jake was feeling domestic.
(I made his fruit loop necklace, which he loved!)

I played with my new camera lens,

while these two guys enjoyed the great outdoors.

And on the way home, I wished for just a second that I wasn't a mom.
**I know what you all are thinking. How could I take a picture of my poor boy in this moment of distress? Well, the camera was already on my lap and we had to find a good place to pull over so I just did. Like a good mom. Don't judge.

This is the way...

we brush our teeth

before we go to bed.

Yeah, the towel gets really wet, but oh well.
It is all in the name of oral hygiene.

Mother's Day Recap

Mother's Day was great here. It was full of this little guy...

Breakfast, flowers, chocolate,

and gifts. :)

These pics are the first ones I took after opening up my new camera lens!
(I might have squealed...)

Love that boy and his daddy is pretty awesome too.

Mandy and Trevor Get Married

One of my best friends from my good 'ol high school days married her best friend on the 16th who also happens to be a part of my high school circle.

There were all kinds of preparations and parties to attend and I was in heaven getting to see old friends and celebrate with the bride to be.

First up was her "Panty Party" hosted by her sister.
It was a really cute concept. I must be getting old though, because I had never heard of such a thing! haha.

Anyway, with any good panty party comes a trip to Victoria's Secret, naturally.
Jake loved carrying around the pink bag.
(Shh. Don't tell Cameron.)

Another good friend of mine, Megan, got to come into town.
We had our traditional Mimi's breakfast and she helped Mandy craft together her birdhouse favors. (They were SO cute.)
Here she is with me and Jake.

Megan and I helped with food at the panty party.
She and Mandy made these adorable edible undies!

I attempted to make these panty cupcakes from a picture I saw online. :)

But, I did nail this apothecary candy jar concept. I was proud.

The planner and the bride.

Mandy also had a normal bridal shower, but I forgot to take a single picture!
That's okay, because I know what you really want to see.

US!!!
No?

Mandy? Her dress?
Oh. I thought so.

Isn't she gorgeous?

More of us... because it is our blog after all.

and Jakey too. :)
My precious little boy.

Yogurt and a Tie for Easter

Here is a random post of overdue pictures. We have been teaching Jake how to use a spoon. The biggest reason why being that he really wanted to try and would throw a fit any time we tried to help him. But, I am happy to say, he is doing very well!

And since I never finished my skirt for Easter, there were no Easter family pictures.
I did, however, manage to buy Cameron a new tie and make one for the little Jake

Here he is sporting my creation. :)
