Rice Cereal, A Big Project and An Interview

We gave Jake rice cereal.
He is still grasping the concept, but isn't that the point anyway?

We reorganized our kid's toys and food storage.
(I have a lot of toys for only having one four month old...)
We have been gathering long term food storage (wheat, flour, sugar, dry beans) this year as our New Years Resolution, and ran out of room under our bed. So, we moved the food storage to the giant closet under our stairs.

Unfortunately, that is where I had been keeping my stash of toys. And since we now have a kid who uses some of them, we decided to move them to a more accessible spot. Plus, I started a babysitting coop, and so I decided that this arrangement also made it easier for other people's kids to get to the toys I have. (So send your kids on over!)
My last item of business is that I have an interview with Walmart today. Walmart opens in Maricopa on May 20th. I'll edit with an update afterwards, but wish me luck. I am hoping for a dream job (as far as Walmart goes) working in their optometry department or photo lab. I didn't even apply to be a checker, because quite frankly, I don't think I would ever be able to make myself go to work if I had to just stand there and check people out all day. The extra money would be nice, but basically, I am not willing to compromise my time with Jake, or my sleep, or my sanity - so if they don't offer me something that can at least hold my interest, during the right time of day, for the right pay - I wont be working there. It just isn't worth it.

**Edit: My interview went fine. I was really nervous for nothing. I forget that I am intelligent enough to talk about myself and answer questions. The woman next to me got there before me and was still there when I left having her questions translated to her in Spanish. Yuck.

They wanted to hire me as a "packer". Yes. Like meat and doughnuts, but I wouldn't change my Sunday ability. It was like a car dealership. "If you change your Sunday availability, we will work with your Thursday and Friday availability and get you a second interview right now!" um.. no. I don't think so. After tuning down that so tempting of an offer (please tell me you sense my sarcasm), they continued with the interview that I felt went very well.

All is not lost though. They fill one position at a time and so I may be up for an interview to talk about other positions I am interested in very soon! As always, I'll keep you posted.
