Camping with the Palmers

We took Jake on his first camp outing this last week! It was a blast, and not nearly as traumatic as I thought it was going to be...

We ended up in this great little spot as close as legal to Bear Canyon Lake. It was beautiful. (Big thanks to Nolan's iPhone for finding this gem!)

The weather was amazing during the day and a bit chilly at night.

The food rocked too! Nolan and Missy have this Volcano Stove. So cool. I must have one. We enjoyed the greatest steaks and cobbler on Monday night and then Cam made corn bread on Tuesday night to go with our tin foil dinners.

I really thought that it was going to be rough on Jake (and subsequently, me) being out in the wilderness and cold, but it wasn't. We researched online what others had done with their infants while camping and took the advice we liked and put it to practice.

We lined the bottom of the the tent with foil blanket, took the Pack 'N Play for the day time, and got use out of our 1$ snow suit I bought at a garage sale before Jake was even born. Muah haha.

Jake was a champ. He slept just like he does at home. He didn't wake up once either night. And, he even napped while up there. We took his swing, just in case, but he wasn't a fan. Which is good to know, because now we wont take it on our next trip!

I took about 180 pictures, so you are going to have to go to my Picasa album to see them. Click here. (I spent an hour captioning them all... so you better go!)
