Jake had his picture taken today at JC Penney. I had mixed feelings about it for a number of reasons. (money, quality, etc.) However, it went well. We ended up with two poses we really liked and one we liked enough.
As a former portrait studio employee, I was impressed with the set-up and professionalism of JC Penney. It was so much better than Target, where I worked, with our fixed camera and presets we had to fill. As a mom though, I wish the kid taking Jake's pictures was more baby savvy and wasn't so stuck on just taking his twelve pictures and moving on.
When my sister, Alyson, took her baby in at 9 months, she left with like 30 shots of her in 3 different outfits. This kid literally took six shots and looked at me and asked if there was anything else I wanted. Um, yeah... MORE SHOTS! and for you to think of something else cute to do with my kid! Isn't that your job? So I stripped Jake down to his diaper and we did some more.
Despite all that, I would do it all over again. I would just be more prepared and know I need to be more involved in decision making and baby primping. Plus, I get 50% off my whole order for having AAA. Awesome.
Okay, if you are bored, stop reading. Otherwise. Listen to my next rant. Clothes. Arg. I am in serious *want* bordering *need* of new clothes. It all started with shirts. I wear a lot of plain colored cotton fitted T's, but it is time to choose another style that doesn't accentuate my um... muffin top and just plain 'ol fit. So, shopping I go. (Refer a friend to your insurance guy - it is an awesome way to get a free gift card!)
I officially hate shopping. And, add a stroller into the mix and a simple shopping trip becomes a strange form of torture! By the end of today, I figured out that it isn't only shirts I need, it is pants. So I bought a pair of capris. (Just so you know...)
Meanwhile, on my shopping expedition, I discovered that I am no longer a teenager. Aeropostale seriously only had the sizes: 00, 0, 1, and 2 on their racks. Who is that small? I don't even think that my 10 year old niece can wear those sizes. Not only that, but I was drawn to older women's clothes! Oh no!
Okay, rant over. I am sorry I have used this this blog for complete pointless ramblings! Have a good day. :)

your funny. I feel like I am getting older and letting my style go 3 kids will do that too ya. (or 1 for that matter)
Haha it's all about NY&Co, though I too am guilty of having a multitude of solid color shirts. Free babysitting will once again be available to you for the middle half of June if you want to go again sans stroller.
Ok, I have a closet full of clothes but only about three shirts fit me. These are the stages my body has gone through: maternity clothes (finally packed those up), "After-delivery" clothes, clothes I bought when I was too small for maternity and after-delivery but too fat for regular clothes, and then my regular clothes which are worn out, outdated and stained. sigh. Someday...
Size 00? What the heck!? again, this is Melinda
