Four Egg Hunts and a Birthday

Easter was eventful this year. My goodness!
Please excuse the picture overload. This is after I pared WAY back.

First, we attended an Easter Egg Hunt one Saturday morning at church.

Egg Count: 1

This picture is so random, but I love that you can see Jake and his buddy Cody.

Same with this one.

Our next hunt was with some friends at a small community park.

Egg Count: 3

And now for Easter morning. Between conference sessions (see, not our whole day was consumed by consumerism) we did a little egg hunt with Jakey in our backyard waste land.

He really started to get the idea behind picking up an egg and putting it in the basket and then knowing that he got to keep the basket after all was said and done.
Egg Count: 14!

After searching for eggs for about 15 minutes, we came in to find the baskets that the Easter Bunny left for us.
Mom got a Dove Chocolate Bunny (Jake was using my basket in the egg hunt)
Dad got a chocolate bunny and some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
And Jakey was spoiled with coloring books, Tadoodle crayons, a police car book and a new Elmo movie.
He was really cute to watch disect the entire basket piece by piece.

We let him have a few bites of his first chocolate Easter bunny.

An artsy moment at the last hunt of the season.
Together with the cousins, we hunted for more Easter eggs.
Egg Count: maybe a dozen?
There were a lot of eggs to go around.

All the cousins.

Jake and Gabe just because it is cute.

To wrap up our Easter we celebrated my step-mom, Louise's, birthday with a giant cake.

It was a great day and we really enjoyed our relaxed day at home with regular naps, conference and some quality family time. Hope your Easter was great as well.

Wow, that really is a giant cake!

And Jake looked cute and like he had a great time on all his Easter egg hunts. But we aren't talking about Easter over here remember, we are pretending it just never happened this year.

And it is 2:30 am and I am still up planning for the felt playhouse I'm supposed to be making with you tomorrow. That is if I'm able to keep my eyes open while I am there...
